An art to show off for sure! “Homage to Science” is a show of respect and honor to those who devote their lives in the service of exploration of the sciences, an investigation of how things work all to the betterment of humanity. This wood plaque is packed with items that might have been found in the laboratories of Nicola Tesla, Barbara McClintock, Michael Faraday and Marie Curie, to name a few. In fact, their pictures have been printed in miniature and inserted in tiny metal frames as display. A print of a clock was placed inside a round wood form and it’s tucked in a corner while a wood ruler, metal gears and keys, copper findings make their way throughout. Metal cones and tacks flank the backdrop of a designer paper in a triangular design. A mesh-like fabric dipped in copper paint, meanders throughout the piece while a faux leather braid serves as a boarder around the entire plaque. A designer metal door handle placed at the top, holds a handmade globe made from wood, wrapped in world print paper inside twisted copper wire. Along is a miniature glass specimen bottle filled with “gas” created with thinly placed yarn and labeled “chemical”. A metal black chain will allow your art work to hang for all to see. A showcase for sure!
